About Us
TaksoAi is a construction technology company focused on improving how mechanical takeoffs are performed. Built in close collaboration with estimators and industry professionals, the platform uses AI to automate the most time-consuming parts of the takeoff process while keeping human review at the center. The result is faster, more accurate estimating workflows that scale with real-world construction demands.

OUR STORY
The Origins Of TaksoAi
Founding Vision
TaksoAi was founded in 2021 by father and son, Simon and Tony Sottile, driven by a shared ambition to modernize one of construction’s most time-intensive challenges: the quantity takeoff process.
From Research to Real-World Application
The idea took shape while Simon was completing his Master’s degree at Queen’s University, where early research explored how AI could meaningfully accelerate mechanical takeoff workflows without removing the critical human review step estimators rely on. Combined with Tony’s decades of industry leadership, the vision quickly evolved into a practical, high-impact solution.
Early Validation and Industry Support
A partnership with a leading university enabled the first proof of concept, validating both the approach and the technology. In 2022, this progress led to a successful Fundraising round supported by some of North America’s most respected mechanical contractors and suppliers.
OUR WHY
Our Mission
TaksoAi exists to improve the mechanical estimating workflow through responsible, reviewable, and highly accurate AI tools.
The goal is not to replace estimators, it is to eliminate the repetitive manual tracing that consumes hours of their time. By automating the identification of pipe, duct, fittings, fixtures, and other mechanical components, TaksoAi enables teams to reclaim 50% or more of their takeoff time, reduce training effort, and focus on higher-value work like pricing, strategy, and project analysis.
